Members and friends that “show up” will not be allowed to participate.

Sure!  Let us know when you make your reservation if you desire additional services. Our professional, friendly team would be pleased to share our expertise and help you plan extra time in Turkey.

In order to accommodate singles from all over the world, our tours and cruises are priced as land/cruise only. Therefore, airfare is additional.  Singles Travel International has been a licensed ticketing agency since 1980 and has low negotiated fares, especially in Business Class.

Turkey is a large country and many tour companies may offer tours for less but spend entire days on a bus from city to city.  Our luxury program saves you time so that you get the most from your experience.

It has been our experience since 1993 that the best possible quality of service is achieved when our Singles Travel International Concierge Team is compensated by tips from our delighted members. This is their best incentive to make your vacation an exceptional experience and the recommended amount is ($15 per day). You will have an opportunity to reward your Concierge at the end of your tour. It is customary to tip, but of course, gratuities are at your discretion and are greatly appreciated for a job well done!

Please contact your preferred carrier directly to make your reservation. If Singles Travel International issues a promotional economy fare, granting of frequent flyer credit is entirely at the airline’s discretion. If the flights are eligible, to ensure you earn frequent flyer credit from the airline, give your frequent flyer account number when you check in for your flights. In addition, save your boarding passes and the passenger receipt from your airline ticket. You may need to submit these to the airline (not to Singles Travel International) to claim any credit allowed.

Of course not. You will be pleased to find out that nearly 90% of our guests on every cruise sign up and have never met anyone before joining the group. Since 1993, we have been perfecting the singles vacation experience. It is paramount that our guests meet each other right away and have opportunities to mingle every day.

From the moment you arrive at the hotel, our Singles Travel International Concierge is waiting to meet you at our Hospitality Desk or Welcome Event.

Our program for 50+ singles also includes an invitation to a private WhatsApp Group Chat where you may start meeting your fellow travelers and make new friends immediately.  In addition, we host a virtual Meet & Greet with your travel companions before you depart. You’ll receive automatic reminders via email and text for each event.

Our vacations cater to singles in their 50s, 60s and 70s but you will often meet singles ranging anywhere from 45-75. We generally have a ratio of 60/40, women to men. As a travel club, matchmaking is not our focus. We offer an opportunity for single travelers to see the world in the company of other singles and do not guarantee ratios or ages.

We recommend that you meet the members of the Singles Travel International Community on the private WhatsApp Group Chat once you receive the invite from the Get Ready email after you make your reservation. This is the best way to find out exactly who will be on your vacation and to start making new friends.

Knowing who’s on the trip in advance makes socializing before and during your vacation easier and more fun.

The weather in July for Istanbul, Cappadocia, and Izmir is generally hot and dry, typical of Turkey’s summer climate.

  • Istanbul: Expect daytime temperatures around 27-30°C (80.6-86°F) with lows at night near 17-20°C (63-68°F). Istanbul has about 10-12 hours of sunshine daily, low rainfall (around 20-25 mm), and moderate humidity around 60-65%. The sea temperature is pleasant, around 23°C (73°F).
  • Cappadocia: Located inland and at higher altitude, Cappadocia experiences warm to hot days with temperatures typically ranging 25-32°C (77-90°F). Nights can be cooler, dropping to 15-18°C (59-64°F). Rainfall in July is very low, making it a dry and sunny month. Ideal for Hot Air Ballooning!
  • Izmir/Bodrum: These coastal cities in the Aegean region tend to be hotter than Istanbul, with daytime highs often reaching 30-35°C (86-95°F). Rainfall is minimal to none, and humidity is moderate. The sea temperature is warmer here, usually 24-26°C (75-79°F), ideal for swimming and beach activities. Perfect for our private Gulet charter and day on the sea!

Overall, July offers hot, mostly dry weather with abundant sunshine, perfect for beach outings, sightseeing, and outdoor activities in these popular Turkish destinations. Light clothing, sun protection, and hydration are recommended.

Although international airlines allow up to 22 kilograms (50 pounds), be aware that our allowance is 1 checked bag weighing 20 kilograms (44 pounds) for internal flights, plus one carry-on bag (max 8 kg/17 pounds, dimensions 21.7 x 15.7 x 7.9 inches) and a personal item such as a purse or briefcase.

Additional baggage will incur fees, approximately $3-$5 USD per kilo.

Here’s a tailored summer packing list for your July visit to Istanbul, Cappadocia, and Izmir:

Essential Summer Packing List for Turkey:

  • Lightweight, breathable clothing: cotton/linen shirts, t-shirts, shorts, airy dresses, or skirts
  • At least one modest outfit for mosque visits (covered shoulders/knees), plus a lightweight scarf
  • Plastic bag/grocery bag to carry shoes when entering a mosque, wet bathing suit etc.
  • Swimsuit and cover-up (for Hamman, Gulet and pools)
  • Comfortable walking shoes/sandals and flip-flops
  • Sun hat or baseball cap, sunglasses, and strong sunscreen
  • Reusable water bottle and electrolytes or rehydration salts
  • Light sweater or jacket for cooler evenings (especially in Cappadocia)
  • Personal toiletries, including insect repellent
  • Foldable tote bag for markets/shopping
  • Passport, essential travel documents, and travel insurance information
  • Power adapter and portable power bank for devices
  • Small backpack or day bag
  • Camera or phone with extra memory/charging options
  • Medications and a small first aid kit

Optional extras depending on plans:

  • Quick-dry towel
  • Lightweight rain jacket (rare for summer but useful in sudden summer storms)

This covers both city explorations and outdoor activities, keeping you cool and comfortable in Turkey’s summer climate.

We suggest that you have a physical check-up before your trip, and discuss the type of trip in which you are participating with your physician. Many large cities have a travel clinic or health center with doctors and nurses that are experts in travel immunization.

The CDC (Centers for Disease Control) recommends updating all routine booster shots for travel to include the following.

  • Diphtheria-Tetanus-Pertussis
  • Influenza

Visit the CDC website or call toll-free, 24-hours at 1-800-CDC-INFO (800-232-4636) or WHO (World Health Organization).

No inoculations are required for entry into Turkey from the US, but some are recommended for most travelers:

Recommended vaccines: Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Typhoid, Measles-Mumps-Rubella (MMR), Influenza, Tetanus (Tdap), Polio, Rabies (for extended or rural stays), and Chickenpox if not previously immunized. Pneumonia and meningitis vaccines are sometimes recommended for older adults, those with chronic health issues, or students.

Medicines to bring:

  • Any prescription medication (with original packaging and a copy of your prescription, ideally translated to English or Turkish)
  • Over-the-counter meds: pain relievers (no codeine without prescription), antacids, anti-diarrheal, allergy medication, insect repellent, and any personal medical supplies.
  • Narcotics or psychotropics (certain painkillers, sedatives, etc.) require extra authorization—bring a doctor’s letter if needed.

Tap water is generally safe for brushing teeth or making tea after boiling, but it’s best to avoid drinking it directly to prevent stomach upset or illness, especially outside major cities.

Food and waterborne illnesses (e.g., hepatitis A, typhoid, E. coli) can occur; practice good hygiene and eat at reputable places.

Bring insect repellent — mosquitoes are common.

Your Singles Travel International team will provide up to the minute information in our Final Vacation Details and Meetup Info document 21 days prior to departure.

Travel insurance is not required for entry into Turkey by U.S. citizens for short-term visits (less than 90 days). However, it is highly recommended since U.S. health insurance generally does not cover medical care abroad, and travel insurance provides important protection for medical emergencies including evacuation.

In addition to direct access immediately upon completing your purchase, you will receive a quote from Travel Guard regarding travel insurance after reserving your vacation.

When selecting a travel insurance policy, we recommend that at a minimum you are covered for medical expenses including emergency evacuation and repatriation. We also strongly recommend that the policy cover personal liability, cancellation, curtailment and loss of luggage and personal effects.

If you have any questions, Travel Guard professional, expert agents are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Call us, if you have not received your quote within 3 days, or CLICK HERE to go directly to Travel Guard and request a policy quote. It only takes a few minutes.

Questions and comments after you have reserved your vacation are addressed promptly when you send a message to us at service@singlestravelintl.com.

Yes, all three hotels—Regie Ottoman (Istanbul), Cappadocia Estates (Cappadocia), and Elvino (Izmir)—provide hair dryers in each room as part of their standard amenities. You can count on having a hair dryer available at all these properties for your stay.

Turkey uses 230V/50 Hz electrical current and European-style Type C and Type F plugs (two round pins).

If your devices are from the USA:

  • Plug Adapter: You will need a plug adapter for Type C or F sockets. U.S. plugs will not fit Turkish outlets.
  • Voltage Converter: Most U.S. devices run on 110V, but Turkey uses 230V. If your devices are single voltage (only work at 110V), you’ll need a voltage converter. Many modern electronics (phones, laptops, tablets, cameras) have dual voltage (100–240V) and only need the plug adapter—check your device’s label to be sure.
  • Universal Adapter: Consider bringing a universal travel adapter for convenience.

Summary:
Bring a European plug adapter (Type C/F) and a voltage converter for any non-dual-voltage devices. Only dual voltage (100–240V) items like phones or laptops need a plug adapter, not a converter.

Turkey’s currency is the Turkish Lira (TRY). As of November 2025, the exchange rate is roughly 1 USD = 42.30 Turkish Lira. The lira has experienced significant depreciation and fluctuates frequently, so rates may vary day-to-day.

You’ll find a number of websites by typing “foreign exchange rates” in your search engine. We recommend xe.com and Money.com.

Money Exchange Situation:

  • Our local guide will assist members with money exchange upon arrival.
  • ATMs are widely available in cities and offer competitive rates for withdrawals—using international bank cards (Visa, Mastercard) is convenient, but check for fees from your home bank.
  • Banks and official exchange offices (“doviz”) provide the best rates and secure transactions; post offices (PTT) also exchange money.
  • Currency exchange at hotels or airports is possible but typically comes with poorer rates and higher fees.
  • Cash vs Cards: Credit cards are accepted in most urban locations, hotels, restaurants, and shops, but cash is useful for local markets, taxis, and small purchases. Bring plenty of small denomination lira for tips.

Tips:

  • Always confirm rates and fees before exchanging money.
  • Avoid street vendors for currency exchange.
  • Notify your bank of travel plans to avoid blocked card transactions.

Questions and comments after you have reserved your vacation are addressed promptly when you send a message to us at service@singlestravelintl.com.

Our office is open Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. In an emergency after hours, please call 877-765-6874 and press 0 (zero). One of our team members will call you back as soon as possible.

We recommend that you meet the members of the Singles Travel International Community on the private WhatsApp Group Chat once you receive the invite from the Get Ready email after you make your reservation. This is the best way to find out exactly who will be on your vacation and to start making new friends. NEWFor the best results, join early, even if not intending to socialize right away, so that you have access to all of the conversations.

Knowing who’s on the trip in advance makes socializing before and during your vacation easier and more fun.

Your “Final Vacation Details & Meetup Information” including transportation and how to meet up with the group will be sent to you via email 21 days prior to the trip start date.

Right before you depart, we host a virtual Meet & Greet with your travel companions and your personal concierge.

You’ll receive automatic reminders via email and text for each event.  Be sure you opt in for all communications so that you don’t miss out on anything!

Text YES to us at 833-479-1857 if you are not yet receiving our text message reminders.

All countries you will visit have laws against the purchase and export of certain items, including antiquities, national cultural property and certain animal products, especially endangered species (ivory, rhino horn, tortoise shell, coral, feathers, etc.). Additionally, the United States has laws prohibiting the import of certain items, which include many of the same things. You face having your purchase confiscated and/or heavy fines for exporting or importing prohibited items.

On return to the U.S., your baggage is subject to search by U.S. Customs. Currently, you are permitted to bring back $800 of goods duty free. Persons aged 21 or over may also bring in one liter of liquor and one carton of cigarettes. If you plan to purchase a lot of souvenirs or expensive items, it is important to retain all purchase receipts. However, please note that U.S. Customs may not accept a receipt as true cost if it seems unusually low for the estimated value of the item. You may access the regulations and restrictions governing US Customs on their official website, click here to learn more.

Singles Travel International is a vacation event company that plans singles events and markets our events at our expense to create a “singles only” experience. We do not allow guests to join the group unless the reservation has been made by Singles Travel International. Our policy is firm for tours and cruises, as well as pre and post trip hotel stays.

Our tour does not include your international airfare, meals and beverages not included in the itinerary and tips for local guides.

Be sure you opt in for all communications so that you don’t miss out on anything! Text YES to us at 833-479-1857 if you are not yet receiving our text message reminders.

Our affordable Premium Memberships allows solo travelers the ability to have Your Own Space™️️ for a lot less so that you never have to share. Review the special Premium Member rates on the Book Now page. You may join at the same time that you purchase your vacation or click here to learn more and purchase your membership.
Roommate matches are available by request if you already have a traveling companion. Contact us at 877-SOLO-TRIP to speak with one our teammates to make your reservation.

NEWFor the best results, join early, even if not intending to socialize right away, so that you have access to all of the conversations.
