East Greenland: Ammassalik Region, Blosseville Coast & Ittoqqortoormiit Region
The gateway to Greenland’s dramatic eastern shores, this region unfolds with towering fjords and colossal icebergs. Rugged coastlines, carved by millennia of glacial movement, frame every view. We meet the resilient Greenlandic Inuit communities whose culture and traditions have endured for centuries in one of the world’s most remote environments. Our group ventures ashore by rubber dinghy to explore blooming tundra and hike along spectacular ridge lines. Brave members take an exhilarating polar plunge into Arctic waters.
North-East Greenland
Inaccessible to traditional ships, North-East Greenland is one of the most pristine and untouched wildernesses on Earth. It is reachable only aboard Le Commandant Charcot. We marvel at majestic mountains, vast glaciers, pack ice, dramatic cliffs, and a tundra alive with color. This is prime territory for spotting polar bears, Arctic foxes, Svalbard reindeer. Bird lovers will be awed by an incredible variety of seabirds. Our group explores by kayak, snowshoe, or rubber dinghy. Our expert expedition team guides us deep into this extraordinary polar landscape.
Exploration At Sea
Sailing through the Arctic Ocean as the ship navigates toward the legendary Svalbard Archipelago. We scan the horizon for whales, walrus, and seabirds riding the Arctic winds. Spend exceptional moments sailing aboard Le Commandant Charcot, the world’s first luxury polar exploration vessel. Our vessel is the first PC2-class polar cruise ship capable of sailing into the very heart of the ice. The unique design opens the seas and oceans that frozen conditions render inaccessible to ordinary ships. Take advantage of the on-board lectures and opportunities for discussion with these specialists to learn more about the poles. Participate in furthering scientific research and discover together what these fascinating destinations have yet to reveal.
Svalbard: Nordaust-Svalbard Nature Reserve, Hinlopen Strait & Soraust Svalbard Nature Reserve
We enter the protected wilderness of Svalbard’s nature reserves, a UNESCO-recognized region of extraordinary biodiversity and raw Arctic beauty. The legendary Hinlopen Strait offers some of the most dramatic scenery in the High Arctic. Towering glacier fronts and basalt cliffs, teeming with nesting seabirds, line this narrow passage. Polar bears roam the ice edges, while walrus haul out on remote beaches. We go ashore by dinghy, hike across the tundra, or kayak among drifting ice floes for an encounter with the Arctic at its most elemental.
Spitsbergen: South-West Region & Longyearbyen
The final chapter of our polar voyage unfolds along Spitsbergen’s southwestern coast. A landscape of sweeping fjords, ancient glaciers, and dramatic mountain scenery. We are privileged guests in these extreme lands. Here, we are at the mercy of weather and ice conditions. Our navigation, mainly in the fjords, will be determined by the type of ice we come across; as the fast ice must be preserved, we will take this factor into account from day to day in our itineraries.
The sailing program, outings, activities and observation of fauna cannot be guaranteed and are subject to weather and ice conditions. The experiences are unique and vary from day to day. Ammassalik Region, Greenland
Still almost unknown just a century ago, the east coast of Greenland remains the most authentic and majestic region. Here, the alpine mountains merge intimately with the sea, while the fjords are adorned with high snow-capped peaks and drifting icebergs. Follow in the wake of Captain Jean-Baptiste Charcot’s famous ship, the Pourquoi Pas (Why Not)?, which set off with its crew to discover Ammassalik, a small island of primitive and wild beauty where the Inuit people chose to live. The name of this island is a reference to the capelin, a small flamboyant silver coloured fish, whose presence in the thousands announces to inhabitants the return of spring. A surprising discovery in a spectacular setting.
Blosseville Coast, Greenland
Today, we follow in the footsteps of Jules Poret de Blosseville, a French explorer and sailor. In 1833, aboard La Lilloise, he set off to discover this isolated and unexplored part of eastern Greenland and gave French names to various sites on the coast. The adventure probably has an unfortunate outcome, since the crew was never found. This uninhabited territory, which now bears his name, lies to the south of Scoresby Sund. Surrounded by ice, icebergs and pieces of pack ice, Blosseville Coast is one of these wild and hard-to-reach places that very few people are lucky enough to explore.
Ittoqqortoormiit Region, Greenland
On the East coast of Greenland, in the Ittoqqortoormiit region, we’ll have the rare opportunity of immersing ourselves in the heart of isolated scenery and exploring the beauty of its landscapes. The high alpine mountains stand out in the sky, revealing dark rock edges. The region is home to the longest fjord system in the world, Scoresby Sound. On the edge of the fjord, the eponymous village is considered one of the most remote inhabited places in the world. The colorful houses, so typical of Greenland, dot the landscape with small red, yellow and blue patches that stand out against the surrounding arid landscape. Immersing in this region allows us to discover the ancestral way of life of the last hunters of the polar region. This will be a veritable deep-dive into the lives of the Arctic’s inhabitants.
Exploration of North-East Greenland
Are you ready for one of those most spectacular voyages of a lifetime? We set sail for North-East Greenland to immerse further and up higher in the Arctic region to explore the unexpected riches of the sea ice, where traditional ships cannot travel at this time of the year. As the light shifts and the moods of the sky change, the different states of the ice and the infinite diversity of its textures create an exceptionally stunning tableau. With patience and humility, we sail amid the pearl-white floating cathedrals and the ice carried by the Transpolar Drift. En route, icebergs have their journey halted by ice and pressure ridges reveal their sharp edges. In the midst of this icy vastness, beauty is found in the detail and the magic of the moment. In the realm of polar bears, Le Commandant Charcot is a reassuring cocoon built for polar exploration and offers you wonderful opportunities to observe these lords of the ice when you happen upon them. You may even get the chance to admire the moving sight of a mother and her cub traveling across the immaculate icy expanse.

Nordaust-Svalbard Nature Reserve, Norway
The Nordaust-Svalbard Nature Reserve has been protecting the northernmost and coldest part of the archipelago, Nordaustlandet (North East Land), since 1973. This vast polar desert covered by two ice caps is the second largest island in the Svalbard archipelago. Protected by the Gulf Stream, the fjords and cliffs in the west and north are home to large colonies of birds and walruses. The landscapes in the colder east and south are dominated by imposing glaciers that calve majestic icebergs in the vast Hinlopen Strait. Large colonies of thick-billed murres have taken up residence on the sheer cliffs*. You may even get the chance to see a bear or an Arctic fox roaming in the vicinity.
Sailing in the Hinlopen Strait, Arctic Norway
Sailing in the Hinlopen Strait, in the heart of the Arctic Ocean, between the Norwegian islands of Spitsbergen and Nordaustlandet promises an unforgettable experience. This territory of the Nordaust-Svalbard Nature Reserve offers breathtaking panoramas, with magnificent basalt formations and the ice cap stretching as far as the eye can see, diving into the sea. The shore line cut by the fjords moving inland composes a magical landscape in which icebergs float here and there, the result of the calving of the surrounding glaciers. This place, today a popular spot to observe the seabirds nesting in the enormous cliffs, polar bears and walruses, was once intrinsically linked to the history of the whalers who frequented the region from the 17th century. Indeed, it was one of them, Thijmen Jacobsz Hinlopen, then director of a Dutch whaling company, who gave the strait its name. Later on, Russian trappers, European explorers, scientists and even mountaineers roamed this region, as hostile as it is sublime.
Soraust-Svalbard Nature Reserve, Norway
The Søraust-Svalbard Nature Reserve is the second largest protected area in Norway. Established in 1973, this nature conservation area stretching over more than 21,000 km2 offering stunning panoramas including coastal landscapes, rocky islets, mountain plateaux, vast tundra plains, and ice floes. With a little luck, we’ll be able to observe a wide variety of seabirds, given the site is listed as an Important Bird Area, as well as cetaceans, Svalbard reindeer, or even Arctic foxes. Among other things, Edgeoya Island is renowned for providing shelter to a number of polar bears during the breeding season.
South-West Region of Spitsbergen, Norway
Next we set sail for southwest Spitsbergen, immerse ourselves in this environment unlike any other and explore its unexpected riches. In this natural sanctuary, the polar light combines with the changing weather of the Arctic, a big blue sky, the horizon scattered with clouds, the enveloping mist erasing the border between the land and the sea. Follow in the footsteps of the first explorers and admire the majestic fjords and glaciers sculpting the breathtaking landscapes, their icy waters shimmering beneath the midnight sun. The fjords, veritable cathedrals of ice, reveal their millennial secrets, while the glaciers, like sleeping giants, move slowly towards the sea, setting free sparkling icebergs. On the water, we hope to spot belugas and rorquals, while on the shores, seals and Arctic foxes add a touch of mystery to this living tableau, where the steep cliffs become breeding grounds for thousands of seabirds, like guillemots. Southwest Spitsbergen is an ode to nature in its rawest and purest form.
Longyearbyen, Spitsbergen, Norway – 8A
Longyearbyen is the capital of the Norwegian Svalbard archipelago, located on Svalbard’s main island, and is the northernmost territorial capital on the planet. With winter temperatures dropping to below 40°C (summer temps 3–6°C / 37–43°F), the landscapes of this mining town are simply breathtaking. The glaciers, the mountains stretching as far as the eye can see and the untouched nature, make you feel like you’re in completely unexplored territory.
Members opting to end their journey here will transfer to the airport for flights back home.

Le Commandant Charcot is not just a ship; it is a state‑of‑the‑art luxury icebreaker designed to take a small group of discerning explorers into parts of the Arctic that are rarely experienced by humans, all in five‑star comfort.
Why Le Commandant Charcot is so special
Le Commandant Charcot is the world’s first true tailor made, hybrid‑electric icebreaking cruise ship, powered by liquefied natural gas, built specifically to explore the most remote polar regions with a lighter environmental footprint. With a Polar Class 2 icebreaking hull, she can navigate deep into heavy sea ice and reach destinations like the Geographic North Pole, Scoresby Sound, and the high Arctic around Svalbard that are simply out of reach for conventional expedition ships.
Designed for intimate passages with only 123 all‑balcony suites and staterooms, the ship feels more like an intimate boutique hotel at sea than a traditional cruise ship. Interiors are elegantly understated, using warm natural materials, wide corridors, and expansive floor‑to‑ceiling windows that keep you constantly connected to the ice, sky, and wildlife outside.
Life on board for sophisticated solo travelers
For your days at sea, Le Commandant Charcot offers multiple refined dining venues—including Nuna, the first Alain Ducasse–designed restaurant at sea—along with a relaxed buffet, outdoor grill, and 24/7 in‑suite dining, all with a focus on inventive French and international cuisine. A full wellness complex with indoor pool, snow room, spa, sauna, and fitness center makes it easy to move from Zodiac adventures to serious pampering in a matter of minutes.
Public spaces are designed for warm and inviting sociability: panoramic lounges, a theatre for expert lectures, a cigar bar, intimate bars, and a wraparound promenade deck give solo travelers natural places to mingle, toast the day’s sightings, and still retreat to their own private balcony whenever they wish. With butler‑style service in higher suite categories, attentive French‑inspired hospitality throughout, and complimentary Wi‑Fi, the onboard experience feels luxurious, cosmopolitan, and very adult.
A new standard in responsible polar luxury
What truly sets Le Commandant Charcot apart is her commitment to responsible exploration: hybrid LNG‑electric propulsion, advanced energy recovery systems, and cutting‑edge waste‑water treatment dramatically reduce emissions, noise, and overall impact in fragile polar environments. This quieter, cleaner technology means less disturbance to wildlife and a more serene experience for you, gliding through ice under near‑silence is one of the ship’s signature thrills.
For experienced, solo world travelers over 50, that combination of connecting with like minded explorers, elegant small‑ship luxury, thoughtful sustainability, and curated enrichment, makes Le Commandant Charcot one of the most exclusive and exciting ways to experience the Arctic on the planet.

Any such decisions will be made on an individualized basis, using current information and considering possible reasonable accommodations.
To participate in the Polar Plunge, Ponant has additional requirements.
- Participation requires the presentation of a paper copy of an EKG (electrocardiogram) less than one year old. No EKG can be performed on board. Without this document, participation in the activity will not be permitted.
- A medical fitness check will also be carried out by the ship’s doctor prior to the activity.
We’ve already included a 2 Night, Pre Cruise Package in Reykjavík (June 6-8, 2027), which allows our members to get a head start on socializing and ensures that you won’t miss the boat!
In order to take advantage of the included arrival transfer, participate in our Singles-Only Meet-and-Greet and Optional Dinner on June 6, try to arrive at Reykjavík Airport (RKV) by 3:00 p.m.
Hotel Iceland Parliament
Thorvaldsenstraeti 2-6, 101 Reykjavik, Iceland
Telephone: +354 513 3000
All meet-up details will be provided in your Final Vacation Details & Meetup Information sent to you via email, 21 days prior to departure.
Singles Travel International is a vacation event company that plans singles events and markets our events at our expense to create a “singles only” experience. We do not allow guests to join the group unless the reservation has been made by Singles Travel International. Our policy is firm for tours and cruises, as well as pre and post trip hotel stays. Members and friends that “show up” will not be allowed to participate.
Your airport transfer on arrival in Reykjavík and departure in Longyearbyen are included with your cruise package. Approximately 115 days prior to departure, you will receive our “Get Ready” email series with a link to the Fit & Willing to Travel Commitment form, where you will securely provide your flight details so we’re able to confirm your complimentary transfer. We kindly ask that you complete this step as soon as possible.
In order to accommodate singles from all over the world, our tours and cruises are priced as land/cruise only. Therefore, airfare is additional. Singles Travel International has been a licensed ticketing agency since 1980 and has low negotiated fares, especially in Business Class.
June 6, 2027 – Arrive by 3 p.m. into Reykjavík Airport (RKV) to join our 2 Night, Pre Cruise Package.
June 24, 2027 – Schedule your flight to depart from Svalbard Airport, Longyear (LYR) any time after 12:00 p.m. noon.
Please contact your preferred carrier directly to make your reservation. If Singles Travel International issues a promotional economy fare, granting of frequent flyer credit is entirely at the airline’s discretion. If the flights are eligible, to ensure you earn frequent flyer credit from the airline, give your frequent flyer account number when you check in for your flights. In addition, save your boarding passes and the passenger receipt from your airline ticket. You may need to submit these to the airline (not to Singles Travel International) to claim any credit allowed.
Our tour price does not include airfare, meals not specified in the itinerary, alcoholic beverages off the ship, or personal incidentals such as laundry and phone calls. Gratuities for local guides on tours not operated by the ship are also additional (suggested 10 USD per full day or 5 USD per half day, per person).
Since 1993, we have found that our Singles Travel International Concierge Team delivers the highest level of personalized service when they are rewarded directly by our delighted members. To recognize their efforts in making your vacation an exceptional experience, a gratuity of approximately 15 USD per day is recommended. You will have an opportunity to thank your Concierge at the end of your tour. While tipping is customary, gratuities are always at your discretion and are sincerely appreciated for a job well done.
Of course not. You will be pleased to find out that nearly 90% of our guests on every cruise sign up and have never met anyone before joining the group. Since 1993, we have been perfecting the singles vacation experience. It is paramount that our guests meet each other right away and have opportunities to mingle every day.
From the moment you arrive at our Pre Cruise Hotel, our Singles Travel International Concierge is waiting to meet you at our Hospitality Desk or Welcome Event. Our first evening begins with a meet and greet and orientation. We plan daily activities both onboard the ship as well as in each port. We dine together each evening in an open seating arrangement so that you have a chance to meet as many people as possible.
Our program for 50+ singles also includes an invitation to a private WhatsApp Group Chat where you may start meeting your fellow travelers and make new friends immediately. In addition, we host a virtual Meet & Greet with your travel companions before you depart. You’ll receive automatic reminders via email and text for each event.
Be sure you opt in for all communications so that you don’t miss out on anything! Text YES to us at 833-479-1857 if you are not yet receiving our text message reminders.
Our affordable Premium Memberships allows solo travelers the ability to have Your Own Space™️ for a lot less so that you never have to share. Review the special Premium Member rates on the Book Now page. You may join at the same time that you purchase your vacation or click here to learn more and purchase your membership.
Roommate matches are available by request if you already have a traveling companion. Contact us at 877-SOLO-TRIP to speak with one our teammates to make your reservation.
Our vacations cater to singles in their 50s, 60s and 70s but you will often meet singles ranging anywhere from 50-75. We generally have a ratio of 60/40, women to men. As a travel club, matchmaking is not our focus. We offer an opportunity for single travelers to see the world in the company of other singles and do not guarantee ratios or ages.
We recommend that you meet the members of the Singles Travel International Community on the private WhatsApp Group Chat once you receive the invite from the Get Ready email after you make your reservation. This is the best way to find out exactly who will be on your vacation and to start making new friends.
Knowing who’s on the trip in advance makes socializing before and during your vacation easier and more fun.

Ponant’s local partnerships mean your explorations are led by top expert, naturalist guides throughout our journey. See the Itinerary tab on this trip page for details on what to anticipate in each destination.
Singles Travel International will automatically register you for all included excursions, so there is nothing you need to book for those in advance. A select number of optional or choice-based shore excursions may be purchased or reserved 120 days before sailing (from February 6, 2027). Please review the options below now so you’re ready to secure your spot when reservations open.
Your Singles Travel International team will send a reminder when excursions become available, along with our “Get Ready” email series after final payment so you don’t miss a thing.
Kayaking
You will make the most of the sailing opportunities and weather and ice conditions to glide along on the clear waters or between the ice floes and get as close as possible to the immaculate nature of the poles. Supervised by licenced expert guides, you will try your hand in a kayak- a craft favoured by the Inuits for at least 4,000 years. The kayak was initially used for hunting and fishing; for you, it will be a means of making the most of your adventure on the White Continent or in the Far North.
Hiking or Snowshoeing
During shore landings, depending on the ecological resilience of the biome, we will propose hikes at different levels, in the company of your experienced naturalist guides. From a simple stroll along the coast to walks lasting several hours to reach particular viewpoints or historical sites, you will make the most of the opportunities provided by the weather and ice conditions. When the itineraries allow, you’ll put on snowshoes to set off like the explorers of old and discover areas that have barely known Man.
Yes, there are hairdryers in each cabin aboard the Le Commandant Charcot.
Le Commandant Charcot offers 110V American outlets and 220V European outlets in the staterooms, so guests from North America can generally use devices without a separate voltage converter for dual‑voltage items.
Please bring a European converter/adapter for our hotels in Reykjavik which uses standard European 230V power with Type C and Type F plugs, so most travelers just need a simple 2‑pin Euro plug adapter. Check your appliance to verify.
Your Singles Travel International Concierge hosts our Breakfast Club™ mornings in Sila, the main panoramic restaurant, typically between 7:00 and 9:00 a.m., so you ease into the day over a relaxed buffet with fellow members and never worry about finding a friendly table.
Your Singles Travel International Concierge handles all dinner plans for our members in Nuna Restaurant, the ship’s premier fine-dining restaurant, notable for being the first and only sea-based restaurant by legendary chef Alain Ducasse. It serves contemporary, gourmet French and international cuisine. Alternatively, we’ll dine in Sila, a more relaxed, panoramic venue serving hearty breakfasts, buffet-style lunches, and themed dinners.
In accordance with Ponant’s open‑seating concept, we’ll coordinate a relaxed group dinner time most evenings around 7:00–7:30 p.m., so you always have friendly faces at your table.
Iceland
-
Cool coastal summer: roughly 48–59°F / 9–15°C, but can feel colder in wind and rain
-
Very changeable: mix of low cloud, showers, wind and bright, long‑daylight spells.
-
Landings and zodiacs: expect chilly wind off the North Atlantic and wet, uneven ground underfoot
Eastern Greenland
-
Colder and more “polar” than Iceland: around low 40s°F / 4–7°C along the coast, often feeling below freezing with wind‑chill.
-
Strong sea‑ice influence: cold water, drifting ice, fog and low cloud are common near coastal landings.
-
Expedition feel: zodiac rides through brash ice, snow patches ashore, and the real possibility of snow showers even in June.
Svalbard, Norway
-
Early Arctic summer: about 32–50°F / 0–10°C, typically near 41°F / 5°C by day.
-
24‑hour daylight with lingering snow, sea ice in some fjords, and frequent wind.
-
Landings: slushy snow, wet tundra and residual shoreline ice make waterproof boots and a serious shell essential.
Most airlines typically allow one checked bag up to 50 pounds for a fee, plus one carry-on bag and a personal item such as a purse or briefcase—please verify current airline policies for exact rules and fees. There are no limitations for our program.
On Ponant’s Le Commandant Charcot, the overall dress code is relaxed, resort‑elegant, and designed for comfort in a polar climate rather than traditional cruise‑ship formality. Daytime on board and in port is “expedition casual”: technical layers, warm sweaters or fleece, weatherproof outerwear, and comfortable walking shoes or waterproof boots for Zodiac rides and landings, with swimsuits and cover‑ups reserved for the spa, pool, and Blue Lagoon style experiences.
Evenings are best described as “elegant casual,” with dresses, skirts, or dressy tops and trousers for women, and long trousers with a collared shirt or fine knit for men; no formal nights are required, but you may enjoy adding a simple dress, wrap, blazer, or jacket for special events and cooler lounges.
Please note that casual wear such as athletic shorts, gym‑style t‑shirts, distressed jeans, baseball caps, flip‑flops, and Crocs are not appropriate after 6:00 p.m. in the ship’s restaurants and lounges.
Bathrobes and bathing suits are reserved for the spa and pool areas only, and shirts and shoes are required in all public spaces at all times.
If you love to dress up and add a bit of Arctic glamour at dinner, go for it! Singles Travel International members naturally elevate every venue—while keeping daytime clothing practical, cozy, and comfortable for touring, wildlife viewing, and icy deck strolls.

Travel insurance is not required for entry into Iceland, Greenland and Norway by U.S. citizens for short-term visits (less than 90 days). However, it is highly recommended since U.S. health insurance generally does not cover medical care abroad and travel insurance provides important protection for medical emergencies including evacuation.
We strongly recommend that all travelers purchase comprehensive travel protection to help safeguard their trip investment and cover unexpected events (such as medical emergencies, evacuation, trip interruption or cancellation, and lost or delayed baggage). After you reserve your vacation, you will receive information and a quote from Travel Guard regarding optional travel insurance; you may also obtain coverage from any licensed insurance provider of your choice. If you choose not to purchase travel insurance, you understand and agree that you are solely responsible for all expenses and logistical arrangements arising from any unforeseen circumstances during or related to your trip, and that Singles Travel International cannot serve as your insurance representative or claims liaison and will not be liable for such costs.
When selecting a travel insurance policy, we recommend, at a minimum, coverage for medical expenses (including emergency evacuation and repatriation), personal liability, trip cancellation and interruption, and loss or delay of luggage and personal effects. For questions about benefits, limitations, exclusions, or claims, please contact the insurance provider directly, as all coverage is subject to the terms and conditions of the policy issued to you.
If you have any questions, Travel Guard professional, expert agents are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Call us, if you have not received your quote within 3 days, or CLICK HERE to go directly to Travel Guard and request a policy quote. It only takes a few minutes.
Questions and comments after you have reserved your vacation are addressed promptly when you send a message to us at service@singlestravelintl.com.
The currency for each country is listed below and all rates are subject to fluctuation. For up-to-date exchange rates, visit www.xe.com.
Iceland: Icelandic króna (ISK)
1 USD ≈ 125–127
Greenland: Danish krone (DKK)
1 USD ≈ 6.3–6.5
Norway / Svalbard: Norwegian krone (NOK)
1 USD ≈ 9.8–9.9 NOK
Ponant ships generally do not operate a full currency‑exchange desk, and local currency cannot always be obtained on board, so it is advisable for members to bring some local currency for use ashore and for any small onboard cash needs. We recommend $300-$500 in cash, 1 credit card and 1 debit card (for ATM withdrawal) to accommodate your needs on this program.
Although the Euro is the standard currency aboard Le Dumont d’Urville, you may pay for any onboard charges at the end of your cruise using a U.S. credit card (Visa®, Mastercard®, or American Express®).
Some credit card companies may charge small international transaction fees, so it’s best to check with your provider before leaving home.
Your “Final Vacation Details & Meetup Information” including transportation and how to meet up with the group will be available on the YOUR TRAVEL DOCUMENTS button on the left navigation bar on the trip site, 21 days prior to trip start date.
Questions and comments after you have reserved your vacation are addressed promptly when you send a message to us at service@singlestravelintl.com.
Our office is open Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. In an emergency after hours, please call 877-765-6874 and press 0 (zero). One of our team members will call you back as soon as possible.
Wi-Fi Access:
Ponant now offers free, unlimited Wi‑Fi access across its entire fleet, available in staterooms and public areas for all guests, regardless of cabin category.
Le Commandant Charcot was the first in the fleet to test Starlink antennas at the geographic North Pole, with the goal of providing higher‑speed Wi‑Fi even in very remote areas.
Even with Starlink, Arctic satellite coverage is thinner than in lower latitudes, so speeds can drop and brief outages can occur as the ship moves through ice and fjords.
Members may plan on being able to send messages, check email, and share some photos, but heavy activities like video calls and streaming may be slow or restricted.
Anticipate enough connection power to stay in touch when needed, but not enough to work online full‑time.
All countries you will visit have laws against the purchase and export of certain items, including antiquities, national cultural property and certain animal products, especially endangered species (ivory, rhino horn, tortoise shell, coral, feathers, etc.). Additionally, the United States has laws prohibiting the import of certain items, which include many of the same things. You face having your purchase confiscated and/or heavy fines for exporting or importing prohibited items.
On return to the U.S., your baggage is subject to search by U.S. Customs. Currently, you are permitted to bring back $800 of goods duty free. Persons aged 21 or over may also bring in one liter of liquor and one carton of cigarettes. If you plan to purchase a lot of souvenirs or expensive items, it is important to retain all purchase receipts. However, please note that U.S. Customs may not accept a receipt as true cost if it seems unusually low for the estimated value of the item. You may access the regulations and restrictions governing US Customs on their official website, click here to learn more.

Take advantage of the on-board lectures and opportunities for discussion with these specialists to learn more about the poles.

Each departure offers its own special moments. Take advantage of the on-board lectures and opportunities for discussion with these specialists to learn more about the poles. Participate in furthering scientific research and discover together what these fascinating destinations have yet to reveal.
Spend exceptional moments sailing aboard Le Commandant Charcot, the world’s first luxury polar exploration vessel and the first PC2-class polar cruise ship capable of sailing into the very heart of the ice, on seas and oceans which the frozen conditions render inaccessible to ordinary ships. Le Commandant Charcot is fitted with oceanographic and scientific equipment selected by a committee of experts. Take advantage of the on-board lectures and opportunities for discussion with these specialists to learn more about the poles. Participate in furthering scientific research and discover together what these fascinating destinations have yet to reveal.

You may need to submit these to the airline (not to Singles Travel International) to claim any credit allowed.

You will have an opportunity to thank your Concierge at the end of your tour. While tipping is customary, gratuities are always at your discretion and are sincerely appreciated for a job well done.

Yes!

Thu, Jun 10 - Ammassalik Region, Greenland
Fri, Jun 11 - Blosseville Coast, Greenland
Sat, Jun 12 - Ittoqqortoormiit Region, Greenland
Sun-Wed, Jun 13-16 - Exploration of North-East Greenland
Thu-Fri, June 17-18 - Exploration at Sea

Sat-Sun, Jun 19-20 - Nordaust-Svalbard Nature Reserve, Norway
Sun, Jun 20 - Sailing in the Hinlopen Strait, Arctic Norway
Mon, Jun 21 - Soraust-Svalbard Nature Reserve, Norway
Tue-Wed, Jun 22-23 - South-West Region of Spitsbergen, Norway
Thu, Jun 24 - Longyearbyen, Spitsbergen, Norway
Be one of the lucky solo travelers on an all-inclusive luxury expedition to some of the most hard-to-reach places on earth! This is your opportunity to enjoy breathtaking landscapes and witness rare moments of wildlife in Greenland and Norway’s Arctic Circle.

Each departure offers its own special moments. The Captain and the Expedition Leader will make every effort to ensure that your experience is as rich as possible, while respecting safety instructions and regulations imposed by the AECO.

The unique design opens the seas and oceans that frozen conditions render inaccessible to ordinary ships.
Each departure offers its own special moments.

Look forward to a guided visit of Reykjavik and its secrets before being transferred to the pier of Reykjavik to embark aboard the one and only Le Commandant Charcot!

Singles Travel International is committed to keeping our members informed about the health and safety policies of our trusted travel partners. At the same time, each traveler remains responsible for their own health and well-being when choosing to travel. We strongly encourage all members to review the latest travel advisories from the US State Department, CDC, World Health Organization (WHO) and their airlines so that they make informed decisions about travel safety.
By booking a trip with us, you agree to complete our Fit & Willing to Travel Commitment, Participant Conduct, and Waiver as part of your registration. This acknowledgment confirms that you will comply with all applicable local laws and follow the guidance of our tour leaders regarding health, safety measures, and appropriate conduct, helping us maintain a respectful and secure environment for all travelers.
Group travel with Singles Travel International is active in nature and may involve walking tours, transfers, changes in elevation, and standing for periods of time. Singles Travel International staff are not personal caregivers and cannot provide continuous physical assistance. To help protect your safety and that of the group, you are requested to understand and agree to the following.
Some activities and excursions on this tour require a moderate level of physical fitness, including the ability to climb stairs without assistance and to walk between 1 mile (approximately 2,500 steps) and 4 miles (approximately 10,000 steps) per day without needing to rest frequently.
Travelers must be generally mobile and able to manage their own luggage, embark and disembark vehicles or vessels using standard steps, and navigate uneven surfaces (such as cobblestones, inclines, or curbs) at a reasonable pace without assistance from Singles Travel International staff or fellow travelers.
You’ll be asked to confirm that you understand the risks and that you do not have any medical, mobility, or other conditions that would make it unsafe for you to participate in the itinerary as described, or that would reasonably be expected to require special personal assistance that Singles Travel International does not provide.
Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Statement
Singles Travel International, headquartered in the State of Florida, is committed to providing equal access to its services in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and applicable state and local laws. Singles Travel International will make reasonable efforts to provide reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities so they can participate in its travel programs, when such accommodations are requested in advance and do not fundamentally alter the nature of the services or create an undue burden. Members are encouraged to advise Singles Travel International of any disability-related needs or accommodation requests at the time of inquiry or booking so the company can evaluate options, work with suppliers where possible, and communicate clearly about any limitations inherent to the itinerary, destination infrastructure, or third-party services.
In situations where a participant’s current physical condition or behavior poses a significant risk of substantial harm to the participant or others that cannot be eliminated or reduced by reasonable accommodation (a “direct threat” under the ADA), Singles Travel International and its Tour Concierge or other representatives may, in their reasonable judgment, restrict or modify that participant’s involvement in specific activities to address the safety concern.
