Ketchikan, Alaska – 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Juneau, Alaska – 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Wrangell, Alaska – 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Once a Tlingit Indian stronghold, then a Russian outpost, and finally an American settlement in 1867, Wrangell has endured dramatic change and honors it. See a preserved tribal house on Chief Shakes Island. Learn about the three gold rushes that transformed the area in the Wrangell Museum. Behold the ancient petroglyphs carved into the rocks on the nearby beaches.
At Sea
Victoria, British Columbia, Canada – 1:00 p.m. – 11: p.m.
Western Canada’s oldest city, Victoria proudly displays its British heritage. Explore lavish Craigdarroch Castle, built in the late 1800s for a Scottish coal baron. Trace the area’s early British seafarers in the Marine Museum of British Columbia. There’s even a Royal London Wax Museum with likenesses of King Henry VIII and Winston Churchill.
Seattle, Washington – 8 a.m.

Since 1993, we have been perfecting the singles vacation experience. It is paramount that our guests meet each other right away and have opportunities to mingle every day.
From the moment you arrive at our pre Cruise hotel, our Singles Travel International Concierge is waiting to meet you at our Hospitality Desk or Welcome Event. Our first evening begins with a meet and greet and orientation. We plan daily activities both onboard the ship as well as in each port. We dine together each evening in an open seating arrangement so that you have a chance to meet as many people as possible.
Our program for 50+ singles also includes an invitation to a private WhatsApp Group Chat where you may start meeting your fellow travelers and make new friends immediately. In addition, we host a virtual Meet & Greet with your travel companions before you depart. You’ll receive automatic reminders via email and text for each event. Our vacations cater to singles in their 50s, 60s and 70s but you will often meet singles ranging anywhere from 45-75. We generally have a ratio of 60/40, women to men. As a travel club, matchmaking is not our focus. We offer an opportunity for single travelers to see the world in the company of other singles and do not guarantee ratios or ages.
We recommend that you meet the members of the Singles Travel International Community on the private WhatsApp Group Chat once you receive the invite from the Get Ready email after you make your reservation. This is the best way to find out exactly who will be on your vacation and to start making new friends.
Knowing who’s on the trip in advance makes socializing before and during your vacation easier and more fun.

For this 7-night Alaska sailing in early August 2026, expect cool, often damp maritime conditions: mid‑50s to mid‑60s Fahrenheit (12–19 °C) by day in Alaska ports and at sea, cooling into the 40s–low 50s (7–12 °C) at night, with milder, drier conditions in Seattle and Victoria. Packing layers, waterproof outerwear, and a warm hat/gloves will be appropriate for both port days and time on deck.
Rain is common in Ketchikan, Juneau, and Wrangell in August, so “wet and cool” is a better expectation than “cold,” while Seattle and Victoria are comparatively drier and warmer with more sunshine. Liquid sunshine present for frequent rainbows and whale watching.
A passport is required for due to the port stop in Victoria, Canada. Be sure to confirm that your passport is current and will be valid at least six months after your return date. If you do not have one or need a new one, contact the State Department Passport Office in your area immediately or visit their website.
VISA REQUIREMENTS
U.S. citizens are not required to have a Visa to travel to Canada.
You are required to Create an Account on OceaniaCruises.com and complete your registration within 7 days of reserving your cruise.
Non US citizens are responsible for contacting all countries on our itinerary to secure appropriate documentation in advance.
This information is subject to change at any time. Visa applications are the responsibility of the traveler.
Currently, most airlines will allow you to check one bag, weighing up to 50 pounds, for a fee. In addition, you may carry-on one bag plus a personal item such as a purse or briefcase. Please check with your air carrier for up-to-the minute regulations and fees for checked baggage.
Packing Tips for Alaska on Oceania Riviera (Seattle–Seattle, August 6–13, 2026)
General packing tips
- Take only what you need, but plan for layering in cool, damp weather; leave a little suitcase space for souvenirs and local crafts.
- Pack flat and full to reduce wrinkling, and build outfits around 2–3 neutral colors that can be layered for warmth.
- Avoid bringing highly valuable or fragile items, and be sure each bag has an external luggage tag plus an ID card placed inside.
Dress code aboard Oceania Riviera
- Oceania maintains a “country club casual” atmosphere year‑round, with no formal nights—smart, relaxed, and polished but never tuxedos or gowns.
- In the evenings, collared shirts or elegant tops with trousers, dark jeans, or skirts/dresses are typical; shorts, beachwear, and athletic gear are not allowed in main dining rooms but are fine in casual venues.
Daytime clothing for Alaska
- Prioritize layers: moisture‑wicking base layers, long‑sleeve tops, fleece or light sweater, and a waterproof/windproof shell for cool sea days and drizzly port calls.
- For women: jeans or hiking pants, leggings under tunics, casual sweaters, and a warm hat/gloves for time on deck or on open boats.
- For men: long‑sleeve T‑shirts, flannel or fleece, jeans or hiking pants, and a beanie and light gloves for scenic cruising and excursions.
Evening clothing on board
- Women: smart jeans or slacks, knit dresses, blouses with cardigans, ankle boots or dressy flats; no need for cocktail gowns unless personally preferred.
- Men: collared shirts or fine knit tops, dark jeans or chinos, loafers or smart sneakers; jackets are optional, and ties are not required.
- Plan 2–3 “go‑to” evening outfits you can rotate, rather than a different look for every night.
Footwear and outerwear
- Comfortable, waterproof walking shoes or light hiking boots are essential for Ketchikan, Juneau, and Wrangell, where rain and wet surfaces are common.
- Pack a mid‑weight waterproof jacket with hood, a packable puffer or fleece, warm socks, hat, gloves, and a neck gaiter or scarf for time on deck and small‑boat or glacier‑viewing excursions.
Accessories and excursion gear
- Bring a small daypack or crossbody bag for shore days, plus a reusable water bottle and compact umbrella or rain cover.
- Consider binoculars for whale‑watching and scenic Inside Passage cruising, along with a dry bag or waterproof pouch for phone and camera.
- Sunglasses with good UV protection and a brimmed hat or cap are still useful in Alaska’s bright overcast and reflective water/glacier light.
Toiletries and health items
- Pack your preferred toiletries in travel sizes; the ship provides basics, but favorite brands and skin‑care products are useful.
- Include sunscreen and SPF lip balm (glare from water and ice can still cause burn), motion‑sickness remedies, pain reliever, cold medicine, and a small first‑aid kit.
- Bring all prescription medications in original containers, plus a few extra days’ supply in case of travel delays.
Tech and documents
- Bring chargers, power bank, headphones, camera/phone with plenty of storage, and any needed U.S./Canada plug adapters (Riviera provides standard outlets, but some cabins benefit from extra USB ports).
- Keep passport, cruise documents, insurance details, credit cards, and some cash in small denominations in a secure travel wallet, plus photocopies or digital backups.
Alaska‑specific extras
- Pack lightweight thermal tops/leggings for early‑morning deck viewing and small‑boat or glacier excursions, even in August’s milder temperatures.
- Consider insect repellent for forested or boggy areas near ports and zip‑lock bags or compression cubes to separate wet gear from dry clothes.

The USD is the official currency aboard our ship for all onboard spending regardless of the ship’s itinerary or sailing region. Your credit card will be accepted to settle your bill onboard the ship, as well as in major shops and restaurants ashore. All onboard purchases are billed with a guest check and added to your personal shipboard account. At the end of the cruise, you will receive a total bill, which can be paid with cash or charged to a credit card.
However, in Canada, you are required to use the local currency which is the Canadian Dollar.
- Best practice: Bring 2 credit cards, 1 debit card and approximately $300-$500 in cash based on your travel habits.
Exchange rates fluctuate often. You may find the current exchange rates in the financial sections of newspapers and on the Internet. You may also find a number of websites by typing “foreign exchange rates” in your search engine. We recommend www.xe.com

We dine together each evening in an open seating arrangement so that you have a chance to meet as many people as possible.

Some credit card companies may charge small international transaction fees, so it’s best to check with your provider before leaving home.

Of course not. You will be pleased to find out that nearly 90% of our guests on every cruise sign up and have never met anyone before joining the group.
Be sure you opt in for all communications so that you don’t miss out on anything! Text YES to us at 833-479-1857 if you are not yet receiving our text message reminders.

Travel Insurance is not mandatory, but, based on our experience, we highly recommend it. In addition to direct access immediately upon completing your purchase, you will receive a quote from Travel Guard regarding travel insurance after reserving your vacation.
When selecting a travel insurance policy, we recommend that at a minimum you are covered for medical expenses including emergency evacuation and repatriation. We also strongly recommend that the policy cover personal liability, cancellation, curtailment and loss of luggage and personal effects.

Some credit card companies may charge small international transaction fees, so it’s best to check with your provider before leaving home.

Be sure you opt in for all communications so that you don’t miss out on anything! Text YES to us at 833-479-1857 if you are not yet receiving our text message reminders.

If you have any questions, Travel Guard professional, expert agents are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Call us, if you have not received your quote within 3 days, or CLICK HERE to go directly to Travel Guard and request a policy quote. It only takes a few minutes.

Some credit card companies may charge small international transaction fees, so it’s best to check with your provider before leaving home.

Of course not. You will be pleased to find out that nearly 90% of our guests on every cruise sign up and have never met anyone before joining the group.
Be sure you opt in for all communications so that you don’t miss out on anything! Text YES to us at 833-479-1857 if you are not yet receiving our text message reminders.
