When I walked in the door after having been in Crete and Santorini for 10 days, I had the urge to dump all of my ‘self-help’ and ‘finding your life’s purpose books’ out and fill my shelves with travel books, and books on how to live off the land, books on growing a garden, making olive oil and raising honeybees…Mediterranean cookbooks. My trip to Greece with STI taught me many lessons: Less is more, take your time, live naturally, and the mind is like a parachute, it only works when open (to new cultures, ideology, food, experiences).
I have committed to nurturing the feeling I brought home of new possibilities and living a less-chaotic lifestyle. Lingering over coffee with friends, leaving the office or any contrived environment whenever possible for walks and to enjoying the details of nature around me, shopping at the local farmer’s stands for my produce, eggs and cheese whenever possible. Most importantly, not stressing 🙂
