Sun, Sand and FUN is how I would describe the first, Adults Only Singles Vacation in Mexico for the New Year!

Vicki and I (we’re your friendly and professional Concierge Team), met the group of adventurers for Happy Hour at La Sandwicheria to kick off the week at El Dorado Seaside Resort in Riviera Maya, MX. Were the members apprehensive to travel during a pandemic? You bet they were; but they KNEW that Singles Travel International would take care of them and help keep them safe. Had members been to Mexico before? Yep, but as Brad said “I learned so many new things while I was here. Chitzen Itza was a highlight.”  So with vaccine cards in hand, sunscreen in their bags and smiles on their faces, 7 members hopped on a plane and flew to Cancun, MX. And what a glorious time they had at the beautiful resort.

Another highlight was the food, wonderful food. We had our choice of 9 different restaurants, each with it’s own special character. From Chicken “Chilaquiles” for Breakfast and squid for lunch to just about any kind of seafood you can imagine for dinner. The dishes tickled all your senses. They had just the right amount of spice for your palette, color for your eyes and succulent smells for your nose.

There was plenty to do too. The members had a wide variety of Tequila to try from our Private Tequila tasting. Do you know the difference between Silver and Gold Tequila? Tequila and Mezcal?  Our members do.  And our Exclusive Private Cooking Lesson taught us how to make the chunkiest, most delicious guacamole. Every night there was live music at the Plaza. One night was a mariachi band. Salsa dancing anyone? Speaking of dancing? There was plenty of that too. The dancing shoes came out at 10:30 when the club opened.  And don’t forget the beach and ocean. Even socially distanced, the members were able to have fun in the sun. The weather was perfect for sun bathers and everyone went home with a golden tan. Bocce ball was a favorite on the beach. I mean, who doesn’t love playing in the sand?

Excursions are always popular with the Singles Travel International members and this trip was no exception. As always, safety first, so masks were worn whenever members couldn’t be socially distanced. The snorkelers saw beautiful colorful fish and corral, had an opportunity to swim in a cenote (a natural underground reservoir of water) and goof around in the water. Our members certainly know how to have fun! But I am not sure who had more fun, our members or the sea lions.
