New Zealand New Year’s Cruise with Australian Land Tour Adventure

The holiday season took on a new sparkle as Single Travel International boarded the stunning Celebrity Edge for an unforgettable journey across Australia and New Zealand. This luxurious cruise and post land tour delivered excitement, camaraderie, and memories to last a lifetime!

Members enjoyed the major sights of Sydney during the Holiday Season, with a highlight of dining 82 stories above the city at SYMPHONY and a beautiful sunset.

Prior to joining the ship, we enjoyed leisurely touring Sydney, a few took the challenge to climb to the top of famous Sydney Harbour Bridge!

The Celebrity Edge is a revolutionary cruise ship designed for modern luxury and adventure seekers alike. Its innovative Magic Carpet, a floating platform that transforms into various venues, offers unparalleled views while dining or enjoying a cocktail.

Culinary and revelry experiences onboard the EDEN Bar, a favorite Happy Hour spot for many Members each night… and some special celebrations…

Our adventure began with the rugged beauty of Doubtful Sound in New Zealand’s Fiordland National Park. The dramatic cliffs cloaked in mist and the serene waters set the stage for a tranquil Christmas Day. As the ship glided through the fjords, we exchanged holiday wishes with fellow travelers over a festive brunch and marveled at the untouched splendor of nature. The onboard caroling and a special Christmas treats brought a heartwarming touch to the day for the kids aboard!

The vibrancy of Auckland was also on our itinerary. Known as the “City of Sails,” it welcomed us with its sparkling harbor. A visit to the Sky Tower provided many an unmatched views.  For those seeking adventure, exploring nearby islands was a highlight.  It also was interesting to see such different labels and marketing campaigns!

Returning to Australia, the Celebrity Edge sailed the Tasman Sea and were some of the first people in the World to ring in New Year 2025 in grand style.  As we celebrated on the ship’s deck, champagne in hand, reveling in the moment with newfound friends.

One of the evening’s highlights was a delightful Le Petit Chef dining experience. This whimsical, immersive dinner brought animated storytelling to life right on our plates, adding a unique and playful twist to our celebration. The night was filled with laughter, music, and dancing—an unforgettable start to 2025.

After our cruise journey, Members continued and met new friends in Australia with a land tour starting in Adelaide of Barossa Valley, one of Australia’s premier wine regions. The rolling vineyards and world-class wineries offered exquisite tastings and indulgent meals. From Shiraz to Riesling, every sip was a toast to the adventure. Three stops later with great food and conversation led to some late afternoon giggles!

A two day trip to Kangaroo Island brought us face-to-face with Australia’s unique wildlife. From playful sea lions at Seal Bay to koalas lounging in eucalyptus trees, the island was a haven of natural beauty. Of course, no visit would be complete without spotting the iconic kangaroos hopping across the island’s rugged terrain—a quintessential Australian experience that united adventurers in awe.

Our holiday odyssey concluded in the iconic city of Melbourne and the start of our exploration of the Great Ocean Road with sweeping scenery and the expert commentary of our Local Guide, Michael, concluding with the amazing “March of the Penguins” where thousands of the magical creatures come ashore each night after a long day hunt in the ocean.

It truly was a unique holiday getaway filled with adventure, luxury, and unforgettable moments, especially for singles seeking camaraderie. From the magic of Christmas in pristine fjords to the jubilance of New Year’s on the sea, this journey is one for the books.
