Like I’m sure many of you have felt, I was a bit apprehensive about booking my first singles trip with Singles Travel International. Then I decided…what have I got to lose? I mean really, how bad can it be, spending a week in the Caribbean celebrating New Year’s Eve 2005? The answer is…I got to meet some great people and see some amazing things. I enjoyed myself so much I booked anther trip shortly after I returned home.

Fast forward to 2009 for a long weekend in Cape Cod with a day trip to Martha’s Vineyard. At least that’s what the itinerary said. Mother Nature however, didn’t cooperate. The lobster dinner went as planned but then the storms rolled in. The Coast Guard shut down the ferry so there was no way we were getting across to Martha’s Vineyard. Tammy wished us all a goo d evening and assured us we would not be stranded in the hotel. To this day, I don’t know how she did it…by the next morning a whole new tour was in place. We visited Plymouth Rock and got to see the Mayflower before heading over to Provincetown. I was so impressed with the organization and new itinerary, literally planned overnight, that I told Tammy on that trip “I will work for you one day.”

In 2011 Tammy took me up on my offer and I’ve been part of STI ever since! I do all of the final preparation providing the tour concierge’s with the guest envelopes, name tags, ice breakers, etc. On occasion I’ve even been a Tour Ambassador on a few of the smaller trips. I’ve made many friends along the way and sometimes even include a little note in their welcome envelope. :-)

It is because of STI that I have seen the world. I had already been to Australia and New Zealand on my own in 2006. In 2008 I joined STI on the Mediterranean Cruise sailing to Italy, Malta, and Greece in Europe, Turkey both the European and Asian sides, and stopping in Africa to experience the great pyramids of Egypt. In 2012 we celebrated Tammy’s birthday in Hawaii, staying in North America.

A year later, STI traveled to South America, visiting Argentina and Brazil as part of the add-on options for the once-in-a-lifetime-experience journey to Antarctica. Thank you STI for providing me the opportunity to set foot on all seven continents!
